Therapy for Relationships, Identity & Life Transitions

When the way you’ve learned to move through the world starts to feel too small, therapy can help you better understand yourself and begin creating a different way forward.

Whether you’re navigating relationship patterns, self-doubt, anxiety, shame, a major life transition, or a deeper question of who you are becoming, this work offers space to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that need care, clarity, and support.

When Old Patterns Start Asking
for Your
Attention

Sometimes the story you’ve been living was once necessary.

It may have helped you stay safe, keep the peace, be accepted, avoid conflict, care for others, or get through a difficult season of life.

But over time, the same patterns that once protected you
can begin to feel limiting.

You may notice yourself overthinking, people-pleasing, shutting down, second-guessing your needs, or feeling unsure how to ask for what you want. You may be moving through a major transition and realizing that the version of you who handled things before is no longer the version of you who can carry you forward.

From the outside, you may look capable, thoughtful, and put together.

Inside, it may feel more complicated.

Therapy creates space to understand the patterns, relationships, and internal stories that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world. The goal is not to erase your past or become someone entirely new.

The goal is to better understand yourself, build more trust in your own voice, and begin living with more honesty, self-compassion, and clarity.

Areas We May Explore Together

The work often begins by looking at the connection between your internal world and the way you show up in relationships, decisions, boundaries, and daily life.

Depending on what brings you in, we may explore the patterns that keep resurfacing, the parts of you that feel stuck or protective, and the deeper needs that may have gone unheard for too long.

Identity & Self-Concept

You may be questioning who you are outside of old roles, expectations, relationships, or survival patterns.

Therapy can help you explore the beliefs you carry about yourself, where those beliefs came from, and whether they still reflect who you are now.

The process is about building a more grounded relationship with yourself, one that is less shaped by shame, performance, or the need to be everything for everyone.

Life Transitions

Major changes can bring up more than logistical decisions.

A new relationship, breakup, career shift, move, loss, parenting transition, marriage, aging, or changing family role can stir up anxiety, grief, uncertainty, and questions about what comes next.

In this space, you can move through those transitions with more intention, so your choices feel less driven by fear, pressure, or old expectations.

Relationship Patterns

The way you relate to others is often connected to the way you learned to protect yourself.

You may notice patterns of overgiving, avoiding conflict, choosing unavailable people, losing your voice, or feeling responsible for how everyone else feels.

Our focus is not to judge those patterns, but to understand them. From there, you can begin building relationships with clearer boundaries, more honest communication, and a stronger sense of yourself.

Anxiety & Emotional Distress

Anxiety often becomes louder when something inside you is asking for attention.

You may feel overwhelmed, restless, emotionally exhausted, or caught in constant overthinking.

Part of the process is slowing down enough to understand what your anxiety may be trying to protect, what it may be responding to, and what support your nervous system and inner world actually need.

Understanding the Past
Without Staying Stuck There

The past does not have to define your future, but it often shapes the way you learned to survive.

Old experiences, attachment wounds, family dynamics, trauma, shame, or painful relational patterns can influence how you trust, communicate, protect yourself, and respond to closeness.

Sometimes these patterns show up quietly.

You may struggle to feel secure, even when nothing is obviously wrong. You may avoid vulnerability, anticipate rejection, overfunction in relationships, or feel disconnected from your own needs. You may know logically that you are safe, but still feel emotionally guarded or on edge.

In therapy, we move at a pace that feels respectful and grounded.

The goal is not to force insight or rush healing.

The goal is to understand the stories and protective strategies that have shaped you, while creating more room for choice, regulation, and self-trust.

Building a More Honest
Relationship With Yourself

Personal growth is not about becoming a more polished version of yourself.

It is about becoming more honest.

More honest about what you feel.
More honest about what you need.
More honest about what no longer fits.
More honest about the parts of yourself you have learned to hide, soften, defend, or silence.

A different story starts when you begin reconnecting with your own voice and making choices that feel more aligned with who you are, not just who you have learned to be for other people.

This may include building self-worth, strengthening boundaries, practicing clearer communication, developing emotional regulation, and learning how to stay connected to yourself in relationships.

The process can be tender, challenging, and deeply clarifying.

Over time, this work can help you move through the world with more honesty, confidence, and self-trust.

What Therapy Looks Like

Therapy with me is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in both emotional depth and practical change.

We will spend time understanding your story, but we will also look at how that story is showing up in your life right now. That may include your relationships, communication patterns, boundaries, self-worth, anxiety, trauma responses, or the ways you have learned to protect yourself.

My approach is integrative and relationally driven, drawing from attachment-based therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), somatic awareness, and psychodynamic frameworks depending on your unique needs.

This is not about labeling you or reducing your experience to a symptom checklist.

It is about helping you feel more seen, more connected to yourself, and more able to move through your life with clarity, compassion, and choice.
