My Story

I love understanding how storytelling helps or hinders human potential.

Hello! I’m Courtney Quattrini,

a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 157969), offering therapy for individuals and couples in the San Francisco Bay Area. I provide both in-person sessions in San Francisco and Walnut Creek, as well as telehealth to clients throughout California.

I bring a deep understanding of communication and relational dynamics into my practice. For twenty years, I lived and worked in the world of public communication and executive coaching, telling stories for some of the world’s best-known brands and teaching executives how to be better listeners and speakers. That same passion for stories is the bedrock of my true calling: to be a Marriage and Family Therapist.

I believe the stories we tell about ourselves and others have immense power. My work is centered on guiding couples and individuals as they explore their own unique life stories, especially the parts that feel messy or automatic. I am here to help you gain new insight, relieve suffering, and find your way home to your most authentic self.

I earned my BA in Public Communication from Buffalo State University (Go Bills!), and my MA in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I've completed Gottman Training Levels One, Two, and Three, and am constantly looking for ways to improve my clinical skills.

My journey to becoming a therapist was inspired by my own therapist, and the work of folks like Carl Rogers, John Bowlby, Mary Ainsworth, John and Julie Gottman, and Esther Perel. But most importantly, I have learned from all of the people I have been in relationships with - including my womb mate/twin and big East Coast Italian family and my chosen family. I live in Oakland with my incredible husband, two fantastic kiddos, and a fur baby who doesn’t quite understand he isn’t a human baby.
